SAFETY WITH TEETH WHITENING PRODUCTS

Before you decide to opt for a teeth whitening procedure you must be aware that only a few bleaching products meet ADA guidelines for safety and effectiveness.

This is because only a few product manufacturers seek the ADA's Seal of Acceptance. This is a voluntary program that requires a lot of expense and time so most manufacturers of teeth whitening products may choose to skip the procedure all together.

However, you must realize that a teeth whitening product without the ADA's Seal of Acceptance might also be safe to use.

You can be assured, however, that products that do carry the seal are certified to be safe.

Teeth whitening products that are dispensed through dentist's offices are usually ADA compliant. Several whitening toothpastes that are freely available over-the-counter ADA compliant but other over-the-counter teeth whitening products are not certified by the ADA.

To differentiate between the two types, check online websites and ask your local chemist for advice.

Teeth whitening kits are not considered to be drugs and therefore they are not monitored by the ADA. Consider the following factors when selecting a teeth whitening kit.

- Select a teeth whitening kit that allows you to mold the mouthpiece somewhat. These are more comfortable than others

- Ask the opinion of others who have already tried the teeth whitening kit you are planning to buy

- If you see that the color of your gums starts changing or if you detect an increase in teeth sensitivity, stop using the kit immediately. Then, consult a professional dentist.

TAKING CARE OF YOUR TEETH

When you get your photo taken, you usually smile and reveal to the world your teeth. Healthy teeth can be a indicator of one's personality. Slobs usually have teeth that are rotten and they have bad breath.

However, people who keep their teeth in tiptop shape are the ones who are known to be successful and responsible in their careers. Personal dental care differs from one person to another, but it all comes down to one important fact: the healthier your teeth are, the greater you would look.

Aside from the aesthetic value of healthy, good-looking teeth, they also help a person chew foods properly. Remember, for a person to have a good digestion, the foods that he or she would eat should be chewed properly. Having a good set of teeth also enables a person to speak clearly and confidently.

People who have a poor set of teeth are usually shy and hesitant to talk in public and fail to effectively communicate with others. Although sometimes, the shape and structure of one's teeth may be genetic, dentists and orthodontists can usually help re-shape and improve crooked, ugly teeth.

The Importance Of Healthy Teeth It is very important that individuals take care of their teeth because it will prevent plaque formation which pertains to a clear film that sticks to the surface of the teeth.

You might think that having a clear film stuck to your teeth is harmful (since it's clear, anyway) but you might change your mind when you discover that the film is very sticky and it has a magnet-like aura that attracts bacteria to stick to it.

Sinfully Sugary Sweet Bacteria are attracted to sugar stuck on your teeth like ants in a picnic. The bacteria that is attracted by the sugary substance left in your mouth after you eat candies or cake breaks down the sugar into acid.

The acid is the one responsible for eating away your tooth enamel, which would then cause holes in your teeth called cavities. Too much plaque also causes a disease called gingivitis. It is a gum disease that makes gums red, sore and swollen.

The first indicator that you have gingivitis is when your gums easily bleed even with just simple and basic brushing. Practicing personal dental care is really important because if one wouldn't take care of his or her teeth, the cavities and unhealthy gums will make the gum very sore and rotten.

Getting awful toothaches can also be a result of lack of personal dental care. Having toothaches and other mouth-related diseases due to lack of personal mouth hygiene will surely make eating, as well as communicating with other people difficult.

Brush Properly If you are already getting paranoid about all the bacteria that is staying inside your mouth, don't be! You can actually combat the bacteria in your mouth by two simple weapons: toothbrush and toothpaste.

By brushing your teeth at least two times a day, you can break down the plaque and prevent it from building up to cause cavities and other teeth and mouth problems.

Being a responsible owner of pearly whites is not difficult. You just have to make sure that you don't forget about your personal dental care amidst your busy work or lifestyle.

TEETH WHITENING PRODUCTS_ PROS AND CONS

Choosing teeth whitening product amidst the different teeth whitening products available in the market today can be very confusing. And some of the teeth whitening products are not giving your desired result.

If you ask the experts, they will tell you that the best method of teeth whitening is still through your dentist. Not only is it the best, it is also the most effective and the quickest to have whiter teeth.

But then, not all people can afford the fees that come with each treatment. Another thing that hinders them from going to dentists is fear. It seems that as early as childhood, dentists are one of the most feared personalities that people do not want to encounter. This fear continues on in the adult years.

Although dentists do not advise people to choose teeth whitening products, they all agree in saying that these products are effective in some degree. According to studies, teeth whitening products, if used regularly and consistently can result in whiter teeth that can outlast any dentist-assisted procedure.

Another additional plus that teeth whitening products have is that they contain the same ingredients that are being used in professional whitening. Two of the active ingredients needed for whitening teeth are hydrogen peroxide and carbamide. These two are also the ingredients that are present in some of the products that are sold in groceries and drug stores.

The only advantage that teeth whitening products have over professional whitening is that they tend to be very cheap. Everyone who will tumble upon them can simply afford to add them to the list of their basic things.

Most of these products can be bought for $30 or less. Compare this to the $100 or more that you need to pay to the dentist. It will not surprise you why people prefer them over the high fees.

Still, teeth whitening products are found out to have some disadvantages. Some of these are:

1. Suitability.

Teeth whitening products cater to all. But then different people have different needs. What others found effective may not work for others. This is one of the problems that people will encounter with these products.

There are those that have sensitive teeth and gums. The reaction to the products will depend upon the suitability of the products to the persons using them. An option would be to try different products until you find the one that is suitable to you.

2. Strong chemicals used.

You will not know what your reaction to the product until you have tried it out. Since you do not know how sensitive your teeth are, you will also not know what might happen when you start using the product.

Better consult with your dentist first before choosing a certain product.

3. Tray may not fit.

The tray put in your teeth is not exactly fitted after you. So there is a tendency that it may either be too large or too small.

When it is too large, the formula may not work well. On the other hand, if it is too small, it may cause gum bleeding and side effects that will cause bigger problems.

Be sure that the teeth whitening precuts you choose is suited for you. If none of them works, then maybe professional teeth whitening will.

ZOOM! CHAIRSIDE TEETH WHITENING SYSTEMS_ IS IT WORTH THE COST_

Dentists have various professional whitening systems to choose from for their patients. All of these whitening systems have unique characteristics but dentists" standard for choosing the right product is its degree of effectiveness.

Below is a list of some professional whitening products dentists and professionals prefer. The kind of bleaching laser or light is enclosed in parentheses.

1. BriteSmile (gas plasma light/light emitting diode) 2. LaserSmile (a Biolase laser) 3. LumaArch (halogen light) 4. Rembrandt Sapphire (plasma arc light) 5. Zoom! (metal halide light)

Zoom! Chairside Teeth Whitening System is the product-competitor of a company named Discus Dental, Inc. against other teeth bleaching items in the marketplace. This product is a complete teeth whitening system. The said manufacturer provides dentists with major bleaching items: the tooth whitener, the bleaching laser, and even many of the ready to use and single-use items for patients that your dentists need when utilizing the Zoom! whitening treatments. Dentists usually pay around $ 1,500 for the system.

Like many other whitening systems, the Zoom! Chairside Teeth Whitening System uses certain a peroxide-based gel and its given activator. These two materials are combined together during the whitening process forming whitening gel that is very basic (has a pH range that is usually between 7.5 and 8.5) and is 25% hydrogen peroxide.

The Zoom! teeth bleaching product uses a metal halide light made from excited mercury atoms to activate and enhance the whitening solution combined above. Moreover, the steps that comprise the treatment do not necessarily vary from other professional whitening systems.

One additional feature of the Zoom! Laser light unit is built-in with an infrared filter that helps lessen the intensity of light coming in contact with the teeth during the treatment. However, Zoom! bleaching light can illuminate the lower and upper set of teeth simultaneously while the solution is being applied on the teeth's surface.

The following summarizes some important characteristics of this professional whitening system.

1. The complete treatment normally takes about an hour and 30 minutes. 2. Each bleaching session, which lasts for 20 minutes, is divided into three separate applications of the Zoom! teeth whitener. 3. In other words, the contact of a patient's teeth to the bleaching gel is one hour. 4. After the treatment, instructions on how to use additional whitening item and/or tray-based teeth bleaching items are given to patients so they can extend the whitening process even outside the dental clinic.

Now here comes the important question, "Should you opt for the Zoom! Chairside Whitening System?"

This is a resolution that needs to be discussed between you and the dentist who will perform the whitening treatment. The necessary information was already shed to you in this article. Generally speaking, many dentists trust this product as this is, according to many of them, an excellent product among other competitors. Besides, this product is created by a company that seems to have the sincerest intentions of producing a credible product since dentists should maintain their good reputations. Whatever outcomes happen to a patient after using the Zoom! Teeth whitening system, it should be as excellent as with any other high-end professional teeth bleaching systems.

FACTS ON OPALESCENCE TEETH WHITENING SYSTEM

People like their pearly whites to be both pearly and white. It sounds lame but it is true. People love to take care of their teeth. One might even say that people are particularly vain concerning their teeth. This is because when meeting people, the teeth are definitely the first thing to get noticed. We smile in order to show people a glimpse of our soul. There are people who depend on their smiles for their living. This is the reason behind the success of such products as the Opalescence teeth whitening system.

The Opalescence teeth whitening system lets people take the system home and do the whitening themselves. This might seem like unnecessary work for some people, but for others, it means convenience. People today do not have the time to go to the dentist for teeth whitening. Some just choose to get a tan instead of having their teeth whitened. This is the reason why the Opalescence teeth whitening system is so sought after. Convenience is one of the things that people look for today.

How does the Opalescence teeth whitening system work? First of all, you have to know that the Opalescence teeth whitening system is a professional-grade bleaching system. This means that it can whiten your teeth faster than other over the counter teeth whitening systems. This is because of the fact that most over the counter teeth whitening systems contain only about 3 to 10 percent hydrogen peroxide. However, the Opalescence teeth whitening system has a 38 percent concentration of hydrogen peroxide.

While most teeth whitening systems today require the use of a bleaching light in order to "activate" the product, the Opalescence teeth whitening system is the first product which lists the use of the light as "optional". People like this because it is often the case that the cost of the bleaching light is undeniably higher than the cost of the actual product. Another interesting fact about this is that lately, many dentists are finding out that the 'studies" regarding the use of bleaching lights rarely do prove that the light is needed to activate the hydrogen peroxide.

Although you can take the Opalescence teeth whitening system home, it is still advisable that you get a professional to whiten your teeth. This is because the Opalescence teeth whitening system works best when in the hands of a professional. About 90 minutes is required from preparation to the actual procedure. Think of it: just one and a half hours for you to have whiter teeth!

Besides giving you whiter teeth, the opalescence teeth whitening system also gives you other benefits. While some teeth bleaching systems may give you sensitive teeth and thus, forever deny you the pleasure of eating ice cream, the opalescence teeth whitening system actually minimizes sensitivity. This means that you do not have to sacrifice the pleasure of eating certain foods in order to have a great smile.

Another complaint that people have with common bleaching agents is the fact that these often cause teeth to become vulnerable to cavities. However, the opalescence teeth whitening system actually strengthens the enamel, making it harder and decreases the likelihood of cavities.

The opalescence teeth whitening system can give great benefits to whoever uses the product. You get whiter teeth in a way that's convenient and painless. So what are you waiting for?

APPRAISING THE REAL COST OF TEETH WHITENING

Whether you want to have a smile makeover for your prom night, or are just self-conscious since smoking cigarettes or drinking coffee have given you stained and yellow teeth, whitening remedies will surely brighten that smile and, hence, you can gain additional boost to your confidence. Learn some basic information about the nature of teeth whitening, categories of whitening methods and techniques, as well as teeth whitening costs of each method by reading the following selections. What does tooth whitening mean?

Tooth whitening lies under the field of cosmetic dentistry. The process itself eliminates stains and other discolorations on the teeth due to tea, coffee, smoking, and other lifestyle-related activities. Additionally, whitening can also lighten other usual teeth pigmentations.

The extent of improvement of teeth appearance and success of the treatment depend on the nature and the severity of the stains and/or teeth discoloration. Typically stains due to tea, coffee, or smoking will brighten between four and five shades. Moreover, discolorations that are due to antibiotics and hereditary factors, that is natural pigmentation can lighten between two and three shades after whitening treatments.

Teeth whitening remedies can be categorized into two:

1. Professional whitening systems

This is usually performed by dentists using whitening gels and lasers to activate the solution. This is normally done inside a dental clinic.

2. Home-based teeth whitening remedy

This could either be done in-between appointments of professional treatments using whitening kits and tray-based whitening technique or are just home-made remedies from kitchen and medicine items. These applications are usually done at home and according to the frequency suggested by dentists and/or by a product's instructions.

Regardless, teeth will noticeably be brighter after these teeth whitening methods. However, while there are a variety of over-the-counter whitening products and do-it-yourself or home-made whitening solutions, consulting a dentist and even a physician is the only way to validate the thousand and one claims of these remedies.

Aside from the available time and temperament of the patient, cost of teeth whitening treatments is also considered. Apparently, the cost of teeth whitening depends upon the type of teeth whitening method to be employed.

Costs of in-office dental whitening method usually lie between $ 500 and $ 2000. On the other hand, home-based bleaching trays that are customized by dentists may cost between $ 100 and $ 300. Using home-made solutions are often inexpensive. Paint whiteners such as Crest Night Effect and Colgate Simply White Night may cost for as low as $ 50 depending on the country to where these products are marketed.

Now ponder on these questions carefully, first, "To whiten or not to whiten?" then, "What are the common advantages and disadvantages of employing a whitening method?"

Nevertheless, any method applied on the surface of the teeth will surely result into brighter teeth, and hopefully a brighter smile. The length of time before the wanted results are achieved varies. Professional techniques are relatively immediate as compared to home-made remedies and over-the-counter whitening paints and kits.

However, peroxide-based gels used in the abovementioned methods of teeth whitening causes the teeth to become temporarily sensitive to cold and hot food, drinks, and even through exposure to air. Trays for whitening that are customized by dentists cause oversensitivity of the gums. Additionally, some of the whitening kits that are bought even without prescription may tear down and make the enamel of teeth thinner and thinner. This will expose the dentin, which may, in turn, be severely colored. These things, obviously, will add up to the cost of having that smile makeover.

Now come to think of it. Read again before you say, "Ahhhhh!"

ABSCESSED TEETH

An abscess in the tooth refers to an infection that was caused by a pocket of pus residing in the tissue around the tooth. Abscesses are very serious conditions, and can lead to serious matters if they aren't treated immediately. When the pulp of a tooth dies due to damage or decay, bacteria will begin to grow from the dead tissue that is left. This bacteria will eventually spread from the root of the dead tooth into the tissue that is below and create a pocket of pus - the abscess.

Gum disease is also a cause for a tooth becoming abscessed. Gum diseases causes the gums to pull back and away from teeth, leaving pockets behind. When one of the pockets becomes blocked, the bacteria can grow and spread, or get backed up. When this happens, an abscess will start to form under the surface of the gums and become apparent will swelling as it gets bigger and spreads.

Once the infection has started to spread, your jawbone may start to dissolve as it makes room for the swelling in the area that has been infected. Once the bone starts to dissolve, the pressure will be greatly reduced, although the infection will still be there. Even though you will get relief, the infection will get worse - and the pain will always come back. Once more of the bone has been dissolved, there will be nothing left to support the tooth, meaning that it will become loose and end up needing to be extracted.

The symptoms of an abscessed tooth are easy to see, as they include severe pain in the affected area, red or swollen gums, a bad taste in your mouth, swelling around the area or the jaw, and possibly a high fever. Pain is excruciating with an abscess, normally affecting the area in a bad way. No matter what you do, the pain seems to intensify.

Abscesses mostly occur with back teeth, although they can happen in the front as well. Once your tooth has become abscessed, your dentist won't immediately pull it. If a tooth that has abscessed is extracted once the infection is still present, it can quickly spread. Your dentist will instead prescribe you some antibiotics that can help to destroy the bacteria.

The dentist can also perform a root canal, in an attempt to remove dead or decayed tissue. Last but not least, he can also drill a hole in the tooth to give the infection a chance to drain and try to remove any dead pulp. The most common treatment with an abscess is to use antibiotics to kill the infection, then get the tooth removed. You should never let it get that bad - as an abscess is something that can destroy your jawbone.

TYPES OF DENTAL TEETH FRACTURES

Fractures are a common thing in the world of dentistry. Fractures or cracks occur with all ages, although they are more present in those above the age of 25. They can be very painful, hard to diagnose, yet sometimes easy to treat. There are several types of fractures, which we will look at below.

The first type of crack is known as an oblique supragingival fracture. This fracture is found above the gums, and normally happens when you bite down too hard on something. Normally, this fracture doesn't involve the nerve. Once the fractured area of the tooth breaks off, the pain will go away. Although the exposed dentin may cause you some pain, you can visit the dentist and have it repaired. If the fracture is large, you may need to have a crown placed on the tooth to prevent further fractures from occurring in that tooth.

The second type of crack exceeds way below the gum line, and is known as an oblique subgingival fracture. Once the fractured piece of tooth breaks off, it normally remains attached to the gums and cause result in terrible pain until you get it removed. Once you have had the piece of tooth removed from the gums, the tooth will be similar to the supragingival fracture. It normally doesn't affect the nerves, although as a result of the tooth area being lost, you may need to have a root canal to clean out the tooth before having a crown put on it.

The seriousness of this fracture depends on how far it has went beyond the gum line. If it has made it's way deep into the gum line, you may not be able to save the tooth. The crack can be present for many years, before you start to feel any pain. To be on the safe side, you should go to your regular checkups with your dentist, as he can check for cracks and other problems.

The oblique root fracture is next, although it doesn't involve the tooth crown at all. This type of fracture is almost always found below the gums, normally under the bone. If a root fracture is found near the crown of the tooth, it will normally prove to be fatal. Sometimes, you can save the tooth with a root canal, even though it is normally lost later on due to an abscess of the bone that surrounds the fracture.

The last type of fracture is the most difficult to deal with. Vertical apical root fractures occur with the tip of the root, and can cause you severe to intense pain, even if you've had the nerve removed with a root canal. Even though the nerve may not be present, vertical apical root fractures cause a lot of pain, which occurs in the tooth.

Normally, vertical apical fractures will cause you more pain than any other type of fracture. The resulting pain comes from the fragments putting pressure on the bone, causing the fractured pieces to strain. Just about the only way to get relief from this type of fracture is to get a root canal, as it will ease the pain and get the dead pulp out of the tooth that's affected with the fracture.

Even though fractures are very common and very painful, you should never put off going to the dentist. Fractures can become more and more serious if you don't do something about them, which is why you should never hesitate to go to the dentist. Your dentist will be able to diagnose the problem, and fix it before it has the chance to get any worse.

KEEPING YOUR TEETH EXTREMELY HEALTHY

Having a very busy lifestyle is definitely not an excuse to neglect your personal dental care. You don't really want to have plaque and other bacteria staying inside your mouth, right?

It takes just a few minutes a day for you to combat and prevent the spread of bacteria, plaque and cavities in your mouth. Simple tooth brushing and mouth care procedures can take your teeth a long way.

Simple Brushing Tips Brushing just the front of your teeth won't do your teeth a lot of good. When you brush your teeth, don't just focus on your front teeth just because you think that they are the ones more exposed to world. You also have to brush your teeth along the sides and those located at the back of your mouth.

When you brush your teeth, don't be too harsh on your gums. Make sure that your brush strokes should be away from your gums, not towards. When you brush your teeth, try not to rush. The suggested time spent for brushing one's teeth is at least three minutes.

If you don't really want to exceed three minutes, you can use a timer or play a song that lasts for three minutes. Choosing the right toothbrush would also make your brushing time more enjoyable.

If you are not comfortable with your toothbrush anymore, there's no reason for you not to ditch it and buy a new one. If you have sensitive teeth and gums, a toothbrush with soft bristles would be perfect for you. However, if you have pretty strong teeth, you can use medium or hard bristles for you to clean your teeth better.

It is also advised that you change your toothbrush every three months. If it's hard for you to keep track of the days and months, you can opt to buy a toothbrush that comes with a color indicator that would tell you that it's time to change your toothbrush.

Learn To Floss Your Teeth As most dental care commercials would say, brushing alone is not enough to ensure that your mouth and teeth is 100% clean.

True enough, you can't really guarantee that you will end up having extremely clean teeth by just brushing alone. If you want to take the cleanliness and freshness of your teeth and mouth to the net level, then you might want to learn how to floss your teeth.

People who floss for the first time may find it a bit weird and difficult to do. However, with enough practice, flossing can become an easy job. Dental floss helps a lot in getting rid of food remnants stuck in your teeth where toothbrushes can't reach.

Visit Your Dentist Now that you already know the basic steps in maintaining a healthy set of teeth, it doesn't mean that you can already skip visits to your dentist.

It is still very important to visit your dentist at least twice a year because there are really some procedures (such as oral prophylaxis) that only dentists can do.

Having your teeth cleaned professionally by a dentist is really a different and better experience than simple brushing and flossing. Enhance your personal dental care by integrating regular brushing and flossing and visiting the dentist at least twice a year.

WHEN TEETH WHITENING DOES NOT WORK

Did you know that in certain cases, teeth whitening is not advisable and may not be hundred percent effective? For example, for children below sixteen years bleaching is not advisable since the pulp chamber or the nerve of the tooth remains enlarged.

Teeth whitening below this age may cause irritation of the pulp or could make it more sensitive. Similarly, pregnant women as well as lactating mothers should also not undergo this process.

Moreover, people having sensitive teeth and gum problems, receding gums and problems or defects in restoration must opt for their dentist's advice before undergoing the process.

Similarly, those having allergies to peroxide are also not recommended to undergo the bleaching process.

Diseases in gums and teeth and decaying enamel are also not suitable cases for teeth whitening. Any cavity in the tooth may cause the bleaching solutions to seep into the existing decay causing further irritation.

Again, people having exposed tooth roots are also discouraged since these roots do not have enamel cover.

Teeth containing any kind of filling like crowns, veneer, bonding and bridges can not be bleached. Doing so may result in uneven whitening and it is advisable to complete the whitening process two weeks before the fillings.

While the yellowish stains can be whitened easily, brown, gray, bluish-gray and purple ones show less response to teeth whitening.

Moreover the result may also vary from person to person. Smokers must refrain from smoking during teeth whitening the process to get the best results. The desired color should be a shade whiter than the whites of an eye.

TAKING CARE OF SENSITIVE TEETH

As millions of people all around the world know, sensitive teeth can make life in general a nightmare. Sensitive teeth comes with pain and discomfort that can make eating or drinking your favorite foods a painful experience. Although you may suffer from sensitive teeth, you can rest assured that they can be treated.

Normally, this condition presents tooth pain after drinking cold liquid, eating hot or cold foods, or breathing cold air. If the pain becomes too much to bear, you should immediately see your dentist, as the nerve of your tooth could be exposed. Normally, sensitive teeth starts when the gums begin to pull away from the teeth. With the gums being a protective blanket, they cover and protect the teeth's roots. When the gums recede and pull away, the roots have no protection, and therefore they will be exposed.

The exposed root tips contain small tubules that lead directly to the nerves of the teeth. Whenever pressure, hot, or cold elements travel down the tubules, it will trigger the nerves and result in pain. Those who don't have sensitive teeth will have their gums covering the tubules, which prevents these types of things from happening.

The idea here is to stop tooth sensitivity and keep the gums healthy. If you reduce the pressure you use when brushing your teeth, you"ll find that your gums will remain healthy. When taught to brush their teeth, most people are instructed to use a lot of force. While this can get the teeth clean, it will also tear at the gums, which can lead to sensitive teeth. If you have sensitive teeth now, you should try using an electric toothbrush such as the Sonicare advanced.

Although you may have sensitive teeth now, there are ways you can help to improve your gums and your teeth. There are several toothpastes out there on the market that contain potassium nitrate, which helps to reduce pain and discomfort associated with sensitivity. Although there are several toothpastes to choose from, Sensodyne is the preferred. It's recommended by dentists as being the best, simply because it affects the nerve of the tooth and stops the pain where it starts.

Mouthwash can also help tooth sensitivity, providing it contains fluoride. You can also ask your dentist which mouthwash he recommends, as there are several to choose from. Scope is a great brand to use, as it offers you plenty of fluoride without any alcohol. Unlike Listerine, Scope won't burn your mouth when you use it. It will leave you with a clean feeling, and get your mouth and teeth completely clean - killing millions of bacteria.

If you start using fluoride toothpaste such as Sensodyne and mouthwash, you"ll notice a bit improvement in your teeth and gums. The sensitivity will begin going away, giving you almost immediate relief. When you brush, make sure you brush gently, and avoid using any type of force, as it will always cause your gums to recede again.

In the event that using Sensodyne and fluoride mouthwash doesn't help, you should ask your dentist about other options available to you. Your dentist will know what will help you, so you shouldn't hesitate to ask. Your dentist will know how to eliminate your sensitivity once and for all, and how to prevent it from coming back. Tooth sensitivity is something that many of us have to deal with - although there are ways that you can fight back and prevent the pain and discomfort associated with sensitivity from making your life harder than it has to be.

TYPES OF TEETH WHITENING PROCEDURES

Teeth whitening is a process of lightening or changing the color of your teeth. A few of the options are listed below in case you wish to undergo a teeth whitening procedure-

- Teeth Whitening Strips: These are thin invisible strips that are covered with a teeth whitening gel. Use strips for about a fortnight and you will be able to see the difference that these peroxide-based strips make on the color of your teeth.

The results should last approximately for four months or so and it will set you back by more than $10 and less than $60.

- Teeth Whitening Gels: Apply these gels with a brush directly to your teeth twice daily for about a fortnight. The effects of these clear peroxide-based gels last for about 4 odd months and it might cost you about $15 - $20.

- Teeth Whitening by a Dentist: Dentists use different types of tray-based procedures in which they apply a light to the gel on your teeth.

This improves the teeth color between three and eight shades. This approach is the most effective out of the approaches listed above.

This also removes stubborn stains deep in the tooth and can cost almost $800

WHERE TO LOOK FOR INFORMATION ABOUT SAN ANTONIO TEETH WHITENING

Good dental hygiene is very important in the world today. Many people get and keep jobs because of a great smile. TEETH WHITENING OPTIONS_ WHEN TOOTHPASTE IS NOT ENOUGH ANYMORE

When toothpastes are no longer capable of giving people that shiny and bright smile, teeth whitening is the only alternative left.

Having the perfect white teeth have long been advertised by toothpaste and other tooth products. Due to the aggressive marketing that they use, it is no wonder why a lot of people are finding ways to whiten their teeth more.

One of the options that they have is teeth whitening. The perfect candidates for teeth whitening are those that have teeth that are discolored because of age, due to possible smoking and many other factors.

Once teeth whitening was found out to work effectively, more and more people are enticed to try them out for themselves. And due to this need, there are now a growing number of ways in which people can have their teeth whitened.

Some of these are:

1. Teeth whitening systems.

This is the process of teeth whitening that you can do yourself and at home. Teeth whitening systems usually consist of whitening gels that needs to be placed in your mouthpiece for specific number of times. In order to maintain its effectiveness, you have to make sure that you comply with the required amount and time that is dictated in the whitening system.

If you want to have your own whitening system, you need to have a minimum of $500 set aside as a budget. You can also opt for those that cost less than $100 but they do not work as well as its expensive counterpart.

Before you buy the whitening system, it is advised that you check out their labels first. Most of them are already approved by the American Dental Association so you need to look for their seal of approval.

Another thing that you need to keep in mind is to follow instructions to the letter. Do not go beyond what is required. You can always consult a dentist if you have queries regarding the whitening system that you are using.

2. Teeth whitening done by professionals.

This is by far the most effective means of teeth whitening. The procedure is assisted by a dentist so you can be assured that everything will be done properly.

There are steps that are needed to be taken before the actual teeth whitening. You first have to be examined by a dentist so they will decide if you need teeth whitening or not. Then he or she will suggest what type of teeth whitening will work effectively for you.

The dentist will then tell you what you can expect from the procedure. Every whitening session varies from case to case. There are those that tend to be more successful than the rest. This will all depend on the condition that the teeth and how effective the procedure will be.

Before an individual is treated for teeth whitening, the dentist will first have to clean the teeth to prepare them for the cleaning process. Then cavities are filled in. The teeth whitening process will begin once your dentist has checked that your gums are as healthy as can be.

The two types of teeth whitening is not an assurance that your teeth will remain permanently white. Take note that the process is only temporary. Teeth whitening needs to be done repeatedly so that you can maintain that shiny white for longer times.

PERSONAL DENTAL CARE_ HOW TO HAVE TEETH FOR A LIFETIME

Thanks to better in-office dental treatments and at-home care, more people find it easier to manage their personal dental care.

Although there are some conditions and diseases that can facilitate tooth loss, the products and technology today gives people more control to help keep their original teeth until they get old.

The most common suggestions to have a healthy set of teeth for a lifetime is to constantly brush and floss them. Most teeth and mouth problems are triggered or caused by plaque, an icky layer of bacteria, food particles and other organic matter that forms on the surface of the teeth.

The bacteria found in plaque are responsible for producing acids that cause cavities to form. Plaque is also responsible for periodontal disease, an infection that can damage the tissues and erode the bone surrounding the teeth.

The best way to remove plaque and destroy its chances of building up is through brushing and flossing. Regular brushing and flossing is really needed so that the plaque won't have the chance to accumulate and harden.

Don't Be A Sloppy Brusher Most of the people have been taught the proper technique of brushing the teeth when they were kids.

However, as people get older, they tend to disregard the proper way of brushing and just brush their teeth sloppily. If you think that simply brushing your teeth all round and making bubbles is enough to get rid of the plaque and other food debris, think again.

You may just be wasting your time, effort and toothpaste if you don't practice the proper technique of brushing your teeth. It takes more than instinctive brushing to get your toothbrush bristles to remove plaque without injuring your gums.

If you really want to know the proper way to brush your teeth, you can visit a dental hygienist or a dentist so that they can show you the proper way to do it.

General Tips About Brushing You need to brush your teeth at least twice a day. Perhaps the most important time to brush your teeth is just before you go to sleep because during sleep, the production of saliva decreases, making the teeth more vulnerable to the attack of bacterial acids.

It's not advisable to brush more than three times a day because it may cause the gums to recede in the long run. When brushing your teeth, make sure not to make the strokes too harsh because it will also cause the gums to recede or bleed.

Imagine this: plaque sticks to the teeth just like jam sticks to a wooden ladle. Rinsing the wooden ladle won't really remove the jam, instead, light and constant brushing will be able to do the trick.

Brushing too hard will damage the ladle, which will also have the same damage to the teeth and gums. Don't rush when you are brushing your teeth. Two minutes is the recommended time to adequately remove the food and plaque build-up on your teeth.

Change your toothbrush regularly.

Don't be a scrooge when it comes to toothbrushes because they are the primary weapon for personal dental care. They don't cost a lot so when you notice that your toothbrush has been with you for three months already, or if you already that the bristles of your toothbrush has already began to splay, it's high time that you replace it with a new toothbrush.

Laser teeth whitening takes only 16 minutes of gel-to-teeth contact time compared to 60 minutes for non-laser system. 2. In laser system you don't need to wear the tray overnight while in other whitening system it requires the whitening gel to be worn overnight. 3. Less post-procedure sensitivity and faster treatment time because laser tooth whitening system has more efficient laser energy due to precise wavelengths. There are some things that should take into consideration before undergoing a laser teeth whitening procedure.

It is not recommended for alcohol users or smokers to undergo bleaching. It should be avoided before the teeth undergo bleaching process. Smoking is the cause of damage to gums and tissue on teeth and may trounce the effect of whitening. APPERANCE OF MILK-TEETH.

The first set of teeth, or milk-teeth as they are called, are twenty in number; they usually appear in pairs, and those of the lower jaw generally precede the corresponding ones of the upper. The first of the milk-teeth is generally cut about the sixth or seventh month, and the last of the set at various periods from the twentieth to the thirtieth months. Thus the whole period occupied by the first dentition may be estimated at from a year and a half to two years. The process varies, however, in different individuals, both as to its whole duration, and as to the periods and order in which the teeth make their appearance. It is unnecessary, however, to add more upon this point.

Their developement is a natural process. It is too frequently, however, rendered a painful and difficult one, by errors in the management of the regimen and health of the infant, previously to the coming of the teeth, and during the process itself.

Thus, chiefly in consequence of injudicious management, it is made the most critical period of childhood. Not that I believe the extent of mortality fairly traceable to it, is by any means so great as has been stated; for it is rated as high as one sixth of all the children who undergo it. Still, no one doubts that first dentition is frequently a period of great danger to the infant. It therefore becomes a very important question to an anxious and affectionate mother, how the dangers and difficulties of teething can in any degree be diminished, or, if possible, altogether prevented. A few hints upon this subject, then, may be useful. I shall consider, first, the management of the infant, when teething is accomplished without difficulty; and, secondly, the management of the infant when it is attended with difficulty.

Management of the infant when teething is without difficulty. ------------------------------------------------------------

In the child of a healthy constitution, which has been properly, that is, naturally, fed, upon the milk of its mother alone, the symptoms attending teething will be of the mildest kind, and the management of the infant most simple and easy.

Symptoms:- The symptoms of natural dentition (which this may be fairly called) are, an increased flow of saliva, with swelling and heat of the gums, and occasionally flushing of the cheeks. The child frequently thrusts its fingers, or any thing within its grasp, into its mouth. Its thirst is increased, and it takes the breast more frequently, though, from the tender state of the gums, for shorter periods than usual. It is fretful and restless; and sudden fits of crying and occasional starting from sleep, with a slight tendency to vomiting, and even looseness of the bowels, are not uncommon. Many of these symptoms often precede the appearance of the tooth by several weeks, and indicate that what is called "breeding the teeth" is going on. In such cases, the symptoms disappear in a few days, to recur again when the tooth approaches the surface of the gum.

Treatment:- The management of the infant in this case is very simple, and seldom calls for the interference of the medical attendant. The child ought to be much in the open air, and well exercised: the bowels should be kept freely open with castor oil; and be always gently relaxed at this time. Cold sponging employed daily, and the surface of the body rubbed dry with as rough a flannel as the delicate skin of the child will bear; friction being very useful. The breast should be given often, but not for long at a time; the thirst will thus be allayed, the gums kept moist and relaxed, and their irritation soothed, without the stomach being overloaded. The mother must also carefully attend, at this time, to her own health and diet, and avoid all stimulant food or drinks.

From the moment dentition begins, pressure on the gums will be found to be agreeable to the child, by numbing the sensibility and dulling the pain. For this purpose coral is usually employed, or a piece of orris-root, or scraped liquorice root; a flat ivory ring, however, is far safer and better, for there is no danger of its being thrust into the eyes or nose. Gentle friction of the gums, also, by the finger of the nurse, is pleasing to the infant; and, as it seems to have some effect in allaying irritation, may be frequently resorted to. In France, it is very much the practice to dip the liquorice-root, and other substances, into honey, or powdered sugar-candy; and in Germany, a small bag, containing a mixture of sugar and spices, is given to the infant to suck, whenever it is fretful and uneasy during teething. The constant use, however, of sweet and stimulating ingredients must do injury to the stomach, and renders their employment very objectionable.

Drinking coffee and tea are known to dull the color of your teeth. This is if you are a constant drinker of these for a period of time.

Additional factors that contribute to teeth discoloration are caffeinated sodas, smoking and tooth injury. The most common and accepted cause is age. No matter how well you clean your teeth, it will eventually become dull as you age.

What are some methods of teeth whitening that people in Chicago can use?

1. Toothpastes with active teeth whitening ingredients.

Gradual discoloration of teeth can be prevented if you constantly brush your teeth. Not only that, you will be free from germs and plaque that can also cause other tooth problems.

2. Teeth bleaching and whitening formulas.

Teeth whitening and bleaching products have the same ingredients that present in toothpastes. The only difference is that the level of hydrogen peroxide is higher. Teeth whitening has 10-16 percent hydrogen peroxide content while bleaching products have 35 percent.

3. Veneers.

This is one of the best known method whitening teeth permanently. Veneers are made from porcelain. These porcelains are affixed to the tooth.

The process can be very expensive. It normally costs around $900 for every tooth. This is the reason why not all people can afford this method. Those who do are those that are intent on permanently having whiter teeth in the fastest time.

Today, it is not difficult to have super shiny and super white teeth. You only need to choose the best method that you think will suit you and your budget. Then you can start looking for the best teeth whitening method in all of Chicago.

DEALING WITH CRACKED TEETH

Also known as the third set of molars, the wisdom teeth are the last set of teeth in the mouth to erupt, which normally happens around the ages of 17 - 25. For many years, there has been a lot of controversy as to the need to remove these teeth. If the teeth don't cause any harm or pain, they are normally fine to stay in place. If they present a bad position or cause you a lot of pain or discomfort, they will need to be removed.

When the wisdom teeth first come in, they will sometimes be impacted. Impacted teeth will normally need to be extracted. Sometimes they can be pulled, although in most cases they need to be cut out by a qualified surgeon. When the time comes to have your wisdom teeth extracted, you"ll need to go to an oral surgeon and have a consultation first.

During the consultation, you"ll take a few x-rays that will let the surgeon know how bad your wisdom teeth are. He will go over the results with you, take a look in your mouth, then tell you what options you have. If he is going to pull or cut out your teeth, you"ll have the option of using local anaesthesia or going with an IV sedation. An IV sedation is the preferred way to have wisdom teeth extracted, as you"ll be so relaxed you won't know what is going on. If you decide to just use local anaesthesia, which is numbing, you"ll be fully aware of the procedure. You"ll also hear the popping and cracking involved, which can make you feel quite uncomfortable.

Depending on the shape, size, and the formation of the wisdom teeth, the removal process can vary from easy to hard. If the root tips have managed to wrap themselves around the bone, the removal process can be very time consuming and quite painful. Once the extractions have been completed, there is normally little to no swelling involved. Your dentist will prescribe you some pain medicine, which you should use as soon as you arrive home. If you are going to use IV sedation, you"ll need to someone to accompany you, as you won't be able to drive home.

After the removal of your wisdom teeth, your dentist will go over what you need to do to ensure the proper healing of your gums and mouth. Normally, he will give you information to go over, to make sure that you experience no problems in the healing process. Someone will need to be with you for the first 24 hours, to make sure that you ok. You won't be able to eat certain foods for the first 48 hours, which is to be expected. Once you get your wisdom teeth removed through - you"ll notice a big improvement in your mouth - and your health.

TEETH WHITENING_ DO IT THE PROFESSIONAL WAY

There is a popular saying that goes like, "Smile and the world smiles with you." There is no doubt that a beautiful smile radiates infectiously to others. Let us put an emphasis on the word beautiful. How does one possess a beautiful smile? Of course you have to agree that heredity cannot be singled out. Lifestyle and attitude also play part in the maintenance or even having a sweet smile.

But what if you can not incorporate a do-it-yourself way to your busy lifestyle so as to have a smile makeover transform your simple smile into a rather healthy and "infectious" one? In this case, a professional treatment by a dentist might be the best remedy.

The following article provides an appraisal of a professional teeth whitening system usually provided and conducted by dentists.

Professional teeth whitening is a technique by which whitening compounds that are peroxide based are applied to teeth by dentists within their dental office. Laser teeth whitening is the common practice of dentist to whiten teeth stained by nicotine, food, or even liquids.

Peroxide-based whitening compounds usually depend on two factors:

1. The concentration of peroxide in a whitening compound 2. The amount of time a whitener is put in contact in the surface of the teeth

Laser teeth whitening utilize a higher concentration of whitener for a shorter period of time, say for hours or for few appointments.

The whitening compounds and associated equipment (bleaching light or laser) used by dentists are normally purchased from a manufacturer as a franchise, system, or simply as a kit. In fact, many manufacturers have provided national campaigns about their whitening products and equipment, and dentists play a vital part in the promotion of a manufacturer's product because they are actually using the product to their patients.

Below is a list of some professional whitening products dentists and professionals choose. (The kind of bleaching laser or light is enclosed in parentheses.)

1. BriteSmile (gas plasma light/light emitting diode) 2. LaserSmile (a Biolase laser) 3. LumaArch (halogen light) 4. Rembrandt Sapphire (plasma arc light) 5. Zoom! (metal halide light)

Each of these whitening systems has its own degree of effectiveness. However, we can summarize three standard steps when using these types of products.

1. The dentist will compare the tooth shade of the patient with a tooth shade guide. Surface stain and tartar are removed before determining the tooth shade. A dentist needs to document a pre-treatment and a post-treatment tooth shade to assess the effectiveness of the whitening treatment system applied. A dentist may make use of variously shaded tooth-shaped porcelain tabs and compare them to a patient's set of teeth and each match is documented. Some dentists even take pictures of a patient's teeth before and after the treatment.

Flour of pumice is used to polish each tooth to ensure that stains are completely removed.

2. The dentist will isolate teeth being whitened.

Bleaching agents, normally peroxide-based, can irritate or even damage delicate tissues within and inside mouth of patients. To protect these tissues, dentist use dental dam barriers.

Thin sheet of latex punched with a hole for each tooth and dental gels painted around each tooth are used to protect teeth being treated. When the latter is used, a cheek retractor, cotton rolls and gauze are used to make sure that the patient's lips and cheeks are held out of the way. Afterwards, these items are simply peeled off.

3. Bib covering and eye protection are placed on the patient.

Unexpected things can happen. Bibs are worn by patients to protect their skin against the caustic nature of these bleaching agents.

Eye protection is also placed to ensure that whiteners will not irritate even the eyes of the patients. Moreover, it is a common knowledge that an intense bleaching light or a laser used to activate the components of bleaching compounds could cause eye damage.

What else can I do if I have undergone professional whitening?

To get rid off typical stains—the coffee and cigarette variety—can be washed away alternately with professional whitening systems. Here are some additional tips:

Munch some apple and drink water afterwards.

Brush after every meal to have a less chance of keeping stains on your teeth. Brush gently but effectively by using a dentist-approved toothpaste and toothbrush. Practice the correct ways of brushing.

Researches on dentistry note that an electric toothbrush removes a plaque percentage that is about 98.2 percent.

Gargle with a mouthwash that has an antibacterial action. This practice will surely will reduce stain-catching plaque.

Don't depend on quick-fix remedies like using super-whitening tooth polishes because these also make the enamel of teeth thinner. And as enamel gets thinner, more of the dentin will show off making your teeth appear as heavily stained.

To put it simply, here are some reasons why or why not choose professional whitening systems.

1. The effect can be seen even instantly.

2. The whitening can be completed in just a few appointments (possibly even just one).

3. Professional teeth whitening remedies cost more than do-it-yourself teeth whitening items.

Fastest and best ways to whiten your teeth at home?

Fastest and best ways to whiten your teeth at home?
I Dont want to buy any kits and i want to kno ways you can whiten my teeth at home

Suggestion by adhiboy12
Crest Pro Health. Fastest, best results or Colgate with any whitening. Also, whitening strips are a good idea, but they are a little expensive. Use mouthwash too.

Suggestion by zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
dip your tooth brush in hydrogen peroxide and then into baking soda, brush for a whole minute or longer, and rinse. the cost, 2 dollars at the most.

There are some very inexpensive home methods, like baking soda, but those are not only questionably effective, but can damage your enamel if mis- or over-applied, or in case of sensitivity. You might want to read up a bit more before making a decision. Try: http://the-dental-makeover.com/whiten-teeth-to-promote-confidence/at-home-teeth-whitening-does-it-work/

What are some best ways to whiten your teeth without going to the dentist.?
And without eating up the enamal on the teeth. thanks
also is putting peroxide on your teeth a good way to take the stains or the yellownish away?

Suggestion by clamdirt4
Don’t drink–staining liquids..
===
I then allow the toothpaste to linger in my mouth–like 10-minutes..
..get the brushing thing goin’ on..and then just let the toothpaste swin around inside your mouth–SWISH.

Suggestion by Romen
I agree, drinks such as coffee and red wine stain teeth badly.

There are over-the-counter toothpastes now that whiten teeth, I know Crest came out with a great one. There are also the strips you can buy over-the-counter.

If you have baking soda at home, try putting some on the palm of a dry hand, then dip your toothpaste onto the baking soda and scrub your teeth, I’m sure some of the stain/debris on your teeth will be scrubbed away using this procedure. Good luck.

A relatively inexpensive way is with Crest White Strips. They work best if your teeth are straight and like other forms of bleaching, they will not lighten crowns or filling in your mouth. Of course, if your teeth get sensitive, you should stop or do this less frequently. I am dentist and I have had many patients get good results with this.

what is the best teeth whitening product?

what is the best teeth whitening product?
Hi Im wanting to buy a teeth whiteing product that they sell at wal greens or target or a place like that as I am a student and dont have lots of money to have them professionaly done. What is the best product out there they have sooo meny of them now and Im just wondering what one is the best resaults and will last.

then also is there a better toothpast that wroks they all claim make your teeth whiter but heh who knows.

thx in advance. :]

Suggestion by Kelli in FL
I have had some of my patients use the Crest White Strips and they have gotten pretty good results. There is not really any whitening toothpaste that works. Before you start to use a whitening product you should use a toothpaste for sensitive teeth for about 2 weeks and continue to use it while you are using the whitening product because the solution will make your teeth sensitive to cold.

Here are many ways that you can whitening your teeth!

For home remedies.

Mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form toothpaste. Brush the teeth regularly with this paste. It will remove all stains in a month.

Use bicarbonate of soda 5 minutes before brushing the teeth with normal toothpaste in the morning. This is a good home remedy for teeth whitening.

Rubbing the bark of walnut tree on the teeth helps in removing all stains from the teeth.

Strawberries are considered natural teeth whiteners. Rubbing the teeth with strawberries daily will remove all the stains.

If you would like a suggestion on tooth whitening gel, here’s something for you!

Crest Night Effects Whitening Gel (about $ 18.00) allows you to remove stains while you sleep. The tooth whitening system has a fresh, wintergreen flavor. After fourteen days of sleeping with this product on your teeth, you will wake up to a vibrant smile. You should see results in two days, although there are reports of tooth whitening results in one night

I use Crest Whitening Strips. I use them twice a year, usually after a dentist cleaning, and have always been happy with the results. I also use Crest Vivid White tooth paste for day and night. Those work wonderfully. I would also suggest buying an electric tooth brush, this will help naturally whiten your teeth and keep them that way. Good Luck!

Here a few simple home remedies which can be tried at home. Lemon juice, baking soda or baking powder can also be used for teeth whitening. Rubbing the bark of walnut tree brightens the teeth. Strawberries are natural teeth whiteners, simply rub them directly on your teeth or mash into a paste and apply. Apple cider vinegar can also be used for teeth whitening.More remedies and information regarding your teeth at http://useinfo-dentalcare.blogspot.com/

Hi my friend,

This is probably not what you were expecting to hear, but please be open-minded and hear me out because I want to help you.

My dentist told me $ 400 for the trays of professional whitener professionally molded to the shape of your teeth.
($ 200 top, $ 200 bottom)

but if I wait until January, it’s discounted to only $ 300
($ 150 top, $ 150 bottom)

My dentist also offers Zoom which uses light to whiten, but that costs $ 800 and does the same thing.

Both options my dentist offered are 10x better than the whiten-at-home things, and they are done professionally.

PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THE WHITEN-AT-HOME SCAMS!

You see, for only $ 300 I can get my teeth professionally whitened, but if I spend $ 80 like ten times over the course of several years for the ones like Luminous Brites (SCAM), I could have just as easily spent that $ 800 on the light-whitening thing at the dentist, or I could do the $ 300 option that is just as good, and used the other $ 500 on something more important.

Also, think about the time you’ll have to spend doing it yourself – not to mention most people never even finish one set of them because it’s tedious!

Also, all the ones you can do yourself like Lumious Brites (SCAM) many people have reported it causing sensitive gums, which is a serious dental issue and could cost you another $ 1,000 – $ 3,000 in dentist costs!

So just save like $ 300 and get your dentist to professionally do it for you. Then you have no worries!

Also it’s just a waste of money to pay for the light-whitening or laser-whitening. The dentist makes a ton of money off it too, so don’t let him/her sell you on it! It really works no better than the professional whitening that is placed in a plastic/rubber/ish [professional] impression of your teeth.

Also your dentist knows what he’s doing and if he screws up you can sue him for malpractice so at least you have a fall-back plan so you don’t get screwed up gums and stuck with a $ 3,000 dental bill. If you screw up your gums yourself, you have no fall-back plan; and plus you’re not an expert but your dentist is.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

What is a cheap and inexpensive way to whiten teeth?
I have a few stains, but they’re nothing major. I dont feel too comfortable with using bleach or stuff like that on it – but is there anything more ‘safe’ that will whiten my teeth?

I know the stories about strawberries, banana skin and stuff like that whitening your teeth, but what can I actually buy for my teeth that isnt too expensive and will whiten them effectively and quickly?

Thanks
I dont drink coffee anymore and have never smoked.

How do you whiten teeth with baking soda?
I was just wondering how I can whiten my teeth with baking soda..
Do I first brush my teeth, then use the baking soda? Or the other way around?
I heard that using warm water helps too..
How much baking soda do I put on the toothbrush?
Oh and how often should I whiten them?
Once every other day?
Thanks!

Suggestion by curious21
The easiest and most cost effective tooth whitening methods is using a soap bar (preferably containing glycerol), apply it to tooth brush and add half of a teaspoon of baking soda with a sprinkle of salt. I personally do this once-twice a week at most 3 times a week, but I never do this regiment for more than two weeks at a time and never back to back months. The reason is due to the degradation of the enamel which is a result of the baking soda; teeth become brighter when you destroy/clean the dirty coat, this is what baking soda and dentist teeth cleaning method does.
